No one in Galar understood why Pikachu had become so scarce in the region. Now only appearing in two locations as opposed to being widespread, whenever their population would suddenly expand it would drop just as suddenly.
One researcher finally found the reason: Pikachu had become a food source for Toxtricity. As they are mostly immune to Pikachu's electricity, they could devour whole family units in minutes. Furthermore, Toxtricity's strange anatomy meant that they could stretch their stomachs to accommodate up to forty Pikachu at a time!
