The city park had become dangerous in the dark. Several gangs claimed it as their turf and waged violent wars after sunset. Even the police no longer dared to come near. Sane folk avoided it even during the day, so when a lone blond woman in a trench coat boldly entered in the evening, the gangs swarmed to her like moths to the flame.
In hindsight, perhaps they should have realized something was up. Maybe they could have spotted the feathery tips poking from below the trench coat, or noticed the supernatural aura surrounding her. But they did not, and they were soon all over her.
It was no fight at all. When the trench coat dropped and Angelissa's wings flared out, it was over in seconds. Their weapons couldn't even scratch her skin and her strength made all resistance futile as she devoured them one by one.
Just a few more nightly visits and the park would be all safe again... or perhaps more dangerous than ever...
