A Weekend Alone: Last Light

After narrowly escaping disaster earlier, Neil found himself in an even worse predicament— swallowed whole by Valerie before she arrived at the Park Point Restaurant. Initially, the food in her stomach provided some stability, and he managed to avoid immediate danger. But now, with Valerie obliviously digesting her meal, Neil is left floating on a precarious piece of chewed carrot in the acidic depths of her stomach.

Desperate for a way to reach the outside world, Neil found a damaged phone on the body of Isaac Bradon, who had been shrunken and swallowed along with him. The screen was cracked, the battery was nearly dead, and Neil was unable to unlock it. All he could do was stare at the lock screen, which displayed a cheerful image of Shelley and Brady— a cruel reminder of the normal life he might never return to.

Above, Sarah, MJ, and Valerie had no idea where Neil was. Sarah was meant to lead the search for him, but her despair and confusion left her seeking comfort in her mother’s arms. Valerie, meanwhile, was entirely unaware that Neil was inside her stomach, casually patting it as she enjoyed her spring afternoon at the restaurant.

As the minutes stretched into an eternity, Neil’s attempts to unlock the phone grew more frantic, but the acidic environment made his hands slippery, and the device wouldn’t respond. He shouted for help, though his voice was lost in the gurgling abyss around him. The light of the phone dimmed, and the battery icon flashed. Neil’s breath quickened as the final moments of illumination faded.

With one last flicker, the phone died, plunging him into complete and suffocating darkness. Above him... life.
